Age Criteria

To make sure every child starts in the grade that's right for them, we follow a simple age guideline. Age is counted as on 31st March of the year of admission.

  • Pre-Nursery - about 2 to 2.5 Years
  • Nursery - 3 Years
  • LKG - 4 Years
  • UKG - 5 Years
  • Grade I - 6 Years

Children already at TSUS move from UKG to Grade I automatically, with no fresh admission. If your child's birthday is close to the cut-off, call admissions and we'll help you choose the right class.

Admission Process

1. Filling up of Parent Information form.

2. An interaction with the Parent Relationship Personnel followed by a campus tour.

3. Purchase of the admission docket (application form) at reception for Rs 1,000, followed by an interaction with the educator. The Rs 1,000 is a one-time registration fee, separate from school fees and not adjusted against them. For Pre-Nursery to UKG, the interaction is an informal conversation, not a test. For Grade II and above, children complete a short worksheet to check the minimum level for the class.

4. Submission of the Application Form with the following documents:

  • Photocopy of the Date of Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births.
  • Aadhaar Card of the student.
  • Photo ID of both parents (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID or Driving Licence).
  • Copy of proof of residence.
  • Six recent passport-size photographs of the student, and 2 photographs of each parent.
  • Immunisation record.
  • For Grade I and above only: Transfer Certificate signed by the Head of the previous school, and the report card of the previous school attended.

5. Payment of fees on confirmation of admission, and collection of the offer letter and fee receipt from reception. For the fee structure, please contact admissions on +91 98140 78825.

6. An application form may be submitted online in case of application by outstation students.

Questions parents ask about admissions

Are admissions still open at TSUS Sarabha Nagar for 2027-28?

Yes. Admissions for 2027-28 are open at TSUS Sarabha Nagar from Pre-Nursery to Grade IX, subject to seats. There is no fixed last date, but LKG is already full, and Pre-Nursery and Nursery seats are filling. Please call admissions on +91 98140 78825 or book a visit soon. For other classes, call us to check seats. We don't take direct admission into Grade X.

My child's birthday is close to the cut-off. Which class should I apply for?

At TSUS Sarabha Nagar, age is counted as on 31 March of the year of admission: Pre-Nursery about 2 to 2.5 years, Nursery 3 years, LKG 4 years, UKG 5 years and Grade I 6 years. If your child is a few weeks either side of the line, don't guess from the table. Call admissions and we'll tell you honestly which class is the right fit.

Is there an entrance test for Nursery, or for higher classes?

There is no admission test at TSUS Sarabha Nagar. For Pre-Nursery to UKG, you and your child have an informal chat with one of our educators, mostly so we can get to know your child. Nobody will ask a three-year-old to recite the alphabet. For Grade II and above, children complete a short worksheet that checks the minimum level for the class. It isn't an entrance exam. It helps us spot gaps so we can support your child after joining.

Which documents do I need, and does a Nursery child need a transfer certificate?

For every class at TSUS Sarabha Nagar, bring the documents in step 4 above: the birth certificate, your child's Aadhaar card, photo ID of both parents, proof of residence, 6 passport-size photographs of your child and 2 of each parent, and the immunisation record. The transfer certificate and the last report card are needed only for Grade I and above, so a Pre-Nursery, Nursery, LKG or UKG child does not need them. If you're unsure about any document, call us before you come.

How much is the registration fee, and is it adjusted against school fees?

The admission docket at TSUS Sarabha Nagar costs Rs 1,000 and is collected at reception. It is a one-time registration fee, separate from school fees, and it is not adjusted against them. For the school fee structure, please contact admissions on +91 98140 78825. We'd rather show you the school first and then go through the full break-up with you in person, including transport if you need it.

Do brothers and sisters of current students get preference?

Yes. At TSUS Sarabha Nagar, siblings of children already in the school move to the top of their category on the waiting list. Seats and the age criteria still apply, so do apply early for a younger child.

Can my child join from another school, board or city?

Yes. TSUS Sarabha Nagar welcomes children from other schools and boards, within CBSE rules, and admission depends on seats in the class. For Grade I and above, bring the transfer certificate signed by the head of the previous school and the last report card. From Grade II, your child completes the short joining worksheet. Families moving from outside Ludhiana can submit the application form online. Please note that studying here does not guarantee a transfer to The Shri Ram Schools in Delhi or Gurgaon, which run their own admissions.

Is there an Open House at TSUS Sarabha Nagar?

We don't hold a formal Open House. Instead, TSUS Sarabha Nagar invites families in on Saturdays. Kindergarten families come for a storytelling session. From Grade 1 onwards, it's a hands-on session in our Digital Literacy and STEM labs, where you sit with your child and see how they learn. Campus visits also run Monday to Saturday. Call admissions on +91 98140 78825 to book.
